Supporting Ohio’s Section 811 Program Expansion

Our organization, alongside other Centers for Independent Living (CILs) in Ohio, has written a letter of support to the Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OFHA). Our goal is to back OFHA as they apply to the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for extra funds to enhance Ohio’s Section 811 program.

In a recent announcement, the HUD’s Office of Multifamily Housing revealed a significant funding opportunity of $212 million. This funding is intended to boost the availability of affordable housing and supportive services for individuals facing very-low and extremely-low incomes, especially those with disabilities.

Our letter expresses our united support for OFHA in their endeavor to secure these funds. We believe in the positive impact that an expanded Section 811 program can have on the lives of those in need.
